“Balticovo” has been operating since 1972 and is currently the largest producer of eggs and egg products in Northern Europe – our hens lay more than 600 million eggs per year.
The company products are available in the shops, and used in the hotels, restaurants and households of Latvia, but the majority – about 70% – of the products, are exported to several European Union countries and other countries in the world, in total – to 20 countries.
“Balticovo” quality control is performed from the production of poultry feed, poultry farming and egg production, to sorting, packaging and the production of various egg products. We do not want to create waste, we turn it into a resource: we process manure into biogas, from which electricity is produced. “Balticovo” has its own accredited laboratory that controls raw materials and products.
The products offered by the company are healthy and such can only be produced by healthy chickens in a safe environment. This is our main driving force of innovation – to ensure that the result of our joint work is safe and valuable. We have developed the rearing of laying hens outside cages. Such barn of free-range hens is located in the Madona area, as well as cooperation with farmers ensures that we can supply consumers with all four categories of eggs, cage-laid (3), barn-laid (2), free-range (1), and also organic eggs (0).
We are constantly looking for new ways to improve our performance, while at the same time making our daily lives easier. Time-tested value – a motivated and cohesive team – allows us to introduce innovations. “Balticovo” is a place, where every employee is heard, and where the suggestion of every person can become a solution to the problem.
